How to Choose Your Brow Pencil Shade
The safest starting point is your brow hair, not your hair color. Match the pencil to the darkest hairs in your brow for definition, or step one shade lighter than your brow for a softer, more natural result. Blonde works for light brows and doubles as a taupe substitute if you prefer a cooler, ashier line. Light Brown and Medium Brown cover most brunettes, and plenty of people find they can go a shade lighter here than they would in other brands. Dark Brown reads as a true brown with warm undertones, and Soft Black is for deep brow hair that would look flat in brown. How to Get the Laminated Brow Look at Home
- Start with clean, dry brows. Brush the hairs up and out with a spoolie to see where the gaps actually are.
- Apply the Mini Major Brow Lamination Gel, sweeping hairs upward at the inner corner and out toward the tail. Let it set for a couple of minutes.
- Fill in sparse areas with the Major Brow Defining Pencil using short, hair-like strokes. Patrick recommends applying the pencil after the gel, once the gel has dried.
- For extra fullness, you can add a second light pass of gel over the pencil to lock everything in place.
